Cooking @ Mudgee Farmers Markets
Mudgee Fine
Foods are running kids cooking classes at the monthly Mudgee Farmers
Market. The 2-hour classes are lead by local chefs & passionate
foodies using local and seasonal produce.
Groups of 12 students, aged 8-12, are first guided through the market
choosing produce for the class and over the course of a Saturday
morning have fun learning all about food and cooking.
With a different theme every month, each class includes:
Basic cooking skills for preparation of tasty and nutritious food.
Choosing seasonal and local produce to make the most of what is
available.
Eating and sharing food together.
When do the classes happen?
The classes happen during the Farmers Market on the third Saturday
of the month. from 9.30am - 11.30am.
Where
do the classes take place?
The classes are held in the market, in the grounds of St Mary's
Parish Church and utilise St Matthew's School Home Economics class
room.
What
is provided?
Kids are given an apron to wear for the duration of the class and
will have recipe sheets to bring home with them so they can re-create
the dishes. Recipes can also be found on the recipes section of
the website.
Who
can attend?
Any child aged 8-12 years.
How
do I book?
Booking are essential as places are strictly limited. Places can
be booked at the markets on the raffle stall or by contacting our
Kids Cooking Coordinator Rachael McCarthy on 0427 791 059. You will
need to complete a registration form with payment required at time
booking.
What
is the cost?
The cost is $25 per child.
