Mudgee Fine Foods Inc. believes it is imperative that children have ready access to fresh, seasonal and healthy food options. We are keen to encourage early interaction with these concepts in a fun manner, so children adopt these values into their everyday behaviours.
To this end MFFI offers special Cooking and Gardening classes only for children. Some of these are held during our monthly Mudgee Farmers’ Markets. Others are special one-off events.
The regular KIDS Cooking classes are led by qualified local chefs who are passionate about using local, fresh and seasonal produce. Whilst the gardening classes teach the kids about growing their own herbs, veggies, flowers and fun succulent mini gardens. There’s even a Worm Farm class where they can ‘get down and dirty’ in amongst the wrigglers!

Everything! Just BYO kid! Children are given recipe and instructions sheets to take home so they can practice their new-found skills!
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Any child aged 7-16 years can participate.
Please note all tutors have Working With Children Clearance registration
HOW DO I BOOK?
Bookings are essential as places are strictly limited. Places can be booked at the Information Marquee on Farmers’ Market Day or by emailing Rebecca at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will need to complete a registration form and payment is required at the time of booking.
The kids love these hands-on, seasonally run classes. They run seasonally with veggie box planting to kick off the Spring growing season, herb planting in Summer or just for fun, our Crazy Cactus Boot planting – proving to be a huge hit!
